Scholarship disbursement to 26 students

A sum of rupees one lakh was distributed to 26 poor and deserving students from the vicinity of Kuppepadav village on 14-7-2018 in Parish Auditorium of Kuppepadav Church. The chairman Bishop Bernard Moras gave away the scholarships and in his message urged the students to make a positive impact in the society wherever they are. Other trustees were present. Edwin Pinto compered the programme. Mr Joseph Moras welcomed the gathering. Mr John cruz Moras gave away the vote of thanks.

Medical Help

Medical help to a Child Joyline Joythi Moras D/O Irene Moras

On 3rd May 2018, A sum of Rupees 50,000/- was donated to Kumari Joyline Joythi who was suffering in the hospital due to critical illness (Cancer). This help was extended as the mother of the benefitiary requested as she had no one to ask for help. The Moras foundation rushed to the hospital and made payments of the hospital bills and paved a way for further treatment.

The trust Chairman Bishop Bernard Moras and trustees Mr Cruz Moras took the lead along with Mr Vijay Moras, John Moras and Oswald Moras.

Vanamahotsava

Vanamahotsava at Kuppepadav

In the month of June 2018,  Vanamahaotsava was organized and the saplings were distributed to the people of Kuppepadav. Chief guest Fr Valearin D’Souza, after giving the message on the importance of protecting the nature, distributed the Saplings to the peoples present.

Scholarship disburses to 33 students

The distribution of the scholarships of the year 2019-20 was help on 7-7-2019 at the residence of one of the trustees Mr Joseph Moras, Kuppepadav. A total of 33 students were selected mostly from the beneficiaries of the previous year and some from the fresh applicants. A sum of rupees one lakh sixty four thousand was distributed. The Parish Priest Fr Valerian D’Souza was the chief Guest and in his message he applauded the good work done by the Moras charitable Foundation. The Chairman Bishop Bernard Moras gave away the scholarships and in his message he called the students “not to be satisfied with the minimum but to aim high in whatever we do. We need to have a grateful attitude towards the hard labour done by the parents and the people of good will to educate us”.

In All the Trustees were present. Edwin Pinto compered the Programme. Mr Joseph Moras welcomed the gathering. Mr John Cruz Moras gave the vote of thanks.

Medical Checkup Camp

Mega Free medical checkup camp by Moras Charitable Foundation

A mega Free medical checkup camp was organized by Moras charitable foundation in association with KMC Mangalore, Mariagiri Health Centre-Kuppepadav at the premises of Mariagiri Hospital on Sunday October 20th 2019 Doctors from various disciplines such as ophthalmology, ENT, pediatrics, gynecology, orthopedics, general medicine…..etc were present and about 300 people availed the medical benefits from 9.30am to 1.30pm. At the inauguration, Dr Kaveri a Dental surgeon, speaking to the Public stressed the importance of Oral health care. She said “since all food and drink that we consume goes inside through the mouth, it is necessary that we take care of oral health with utmost care”. Dr Anaga, a general surgeon, speaking to the audience assured the best medical facilities and expressed her happiness

Educational Aid

Educational Aid to the students & Charity during Covid 19 Pandemic

Some deserving poor students of Kuppepadav have been given free note books. They have been helped financially to pay the school fees. To alleviate the poor ondition of the families due to Lockdown of covid 19 pandemic, in the mawth of May, June 2020 social attention and care was given to the poor people of the Kuppepadav by providing them with financial help and help in kind like rice, groceries and daily usable commodities.

Knowing the poor financial condition of the family, the Moras Charitable foundation extended the aid of Rupees 15,000/- for the construction of the house of Mr Chetan J. Kambekar of Gadgets, Haliyal U.K. John Moras and Mr Joseph Moras handed over the cheque to the benefitiary and wished well on behalf of the foundation.

In association with the Early Learning centre (ELC), Mangalore, Moras foundation took part in the vanamahotsava prograame. The trustees were resent and of the trustees Mr Vijay Moras made all the arrangements so as to get the different varities of saplings to most of the participants of the program.

The Parish Priest of Kuppepadav Church Fr Valerian D’Souza, praised the the Moras foundation activities which are relevant and pro- community. During the Presidential address the chairman and the Bishop Emeritus of Bangalore, Dr Bernard Moras, Said  we want  to give back to the community what we received from the community and and Almighty, by giving we make the life of the deserving a little more better and happy He also announced to the audience about the coaching classes that will be started by the Moras foundation for the deserving students of 8, 9, and 10 th standard in the subjects English, Maths and Science, hopefully from January 2020. He also expressed his desire of adding more educational faculties to Kuppepadav, if God willing a English medium school at Kuppepadav.

 The superior of Mariagiri convent Sr Rekha and and senior Trustee Mr John Moras were present on the Dais. One on the trustees Mr Joseph Antony Moras welcomed all, compeered the programme and thanked everyone who made the Medical camp possible.

To promote equitable access to education and encourage academic excellence, Moras Charitable Foundation disbursed scholarship totaling ₹110,000 to 24 deserving students on 22.12.2022. Beneficiaries were selected through a transparent process based on academic merit, financial need, and looking at the family conditions to support tuition fees, books, exams, and related educational expenses. The program was presided over by Rt. Rev. Dr. Bernard Moras Archbishop (Emeritus) Archbishop of Bangalore and Bishop Administrator Mysore along with trustees, faculty, parents, and community representatives at Kelenjar Aramane Govt. high School- Kuppepadavu.
Recipients expressed gratitude and affirmed their commitment to maintain high standards in their studies.

Understanding the financial condition and need of a shelter to stay on, Moras Charitable Foundation came forward to help to Mr. Lancy Dsouza, Bendoor Parish, Mangalore, with a small token of love and charity Rs. 20,000.00 donated to support humanity.

A couple from Shakthinagar, approached for financial help to settle their girl child (Miss. Anisha). given a token of love Rs. 15,000.00.

A Student who was undergoing teachers Training in Mangalore extended a helping hand providing a second hand Laptop purchased for Rs. 15000.00 from E-soft solutions.

Moras Charitable Foundation, annual program was held on 04th December 2023. Edwin Pinto Parish priest, Manjeshwar, along with trustees (Mr. Martin Moras, Mr. Joseph Moras, Mr. Edmond Moras, Mr. Reginald Moras) faculty (Mr. Denis Mendonca, Head Master, parents, and community representatives at Kelenjar Aramane Govt. high School- Kuppepadavu. Recipients expressed gratitude and affirmed their commitment to maintain high standards in their studies.

Year 2023-2024 Scholarship distribution was taken place at Aramane Govt. high School Kuppepadavu on 048 December 2023 and around 25students with a sum of Rs. 168,000.00 were benefitted to nurture their future

Understanding the poor financial condition of Mr. Sunil Monis with mentally retorted condition of his wife having two small children to support the cause Moras Charitable Foundation and Parish Council of Christ the King church – Venur came forward to construct a living place for the family. Rs.20000.00 was donated for the cause.

Moras Charitable Foundation, with the noble objective of serving the needy and uplifting the weaker sections of society, has been extending various forms of financial and social assistance.

During the annual function held on 7th August 2024, Moras Charitable Foundation contributed significantly towards welfare and community development in the following ways:

To encourage education and support deserving students from economically weaker families, A sum of Rs. 246,000.00 was awarded in the form of scholarships to 34 students in and around of the locality The financial assistance has helped many bright students pursue their studies without interruption, thus shaping their future with confidence and hope.

The Trust has provided financial support to Mr. Jeremmi Rodrigues from Koppa facing critical health conditions and long-term treatments. Rs. 25000.00 was extended for hospital bills, surgery, medicines, and other healthcare needs, easing the burden of poor families during times of medical crisis.

Housing being a basic need, the Trust has supported families in repairing, old, unsafe houses. Rs. 10000.00 each was contributed to Mr. Robert Crasta and Mrs. Jacintha Dsouza towards the cause.

Apart from the above, the Trust has undertaken various social welfare activities, including Repairing compound walls, emergency relief support by clear water logged due to heavy rain for community development projects.
